On this tour, we will start with a visit of the Sagrada Familia church designed by the genius architect Antoni Gaudí, truly one of the main reasons to visit Barcelona. First started in 1882, the project was promoted by the people for the people. This one-of-a-kind temple is still under construction and five generations now have watched work on the temple progress in Barcelona. The light from its stained-glass windows and the palm-shaped columns will astonish you.
Located at a very short distance from the Sagrada Familia, we can find the Hospital de Sant Pau, one of the finest examples of Catalan Modernism. The Hospital, designed by Domènech i Montaner, is a hidden gem that must certainly be included in a visit to Barcelona. In addition to its opulent façade and ornamentation, the architecture has been hailed for its successful adaption to patient needs. Built in the early 1900s, the Hospital is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was reopened in 2014 as a museum and cultural center.
